Nigeria Ushers in the New Year
Nigerians in their millions celebrated the New Year, many were in churches praying, hoping for a better quality of life and certainly a new young set of incorruptible leaders, true patriot like Omoyele Sowore. Yes Nigerians are going to #TakeItBack #SoworeRufai2019
Buhari says he will keep fighting corruption, however Buba Galadima says Buhari has no integrity.
President Muhammadu Buhari has promised not to stop arresting corrupt politicians if re-elected in the 2019 elections.
Speaking on Friday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state during the flag-off of his presidential campaigns in the South-South region, the President said he has delivered his pre-2015 campaign promises in the areas of security, economy and anti-graft fight.
“I will not stop arresting corrupt politicians. Very soon, I will inform Nigerians of funds recovered from looters. I will ensure that I recover Nigeria and no Nigerian will ever regret voting me and the APC.
“We will not go back on the Single Treasury Account, it is meant to ensure transparency, because every federal government money that goes in there can easily be traced,” he said.
He, however, said tackling unemployment remained his main challenge, but that the government is working to tackle the problem.
Also speaking, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said re-electing President Buhari in 2019 will give Nigerians hope and lead to the diversification of the economy.
Tinubu said that Buhari is strongly determined to redirect governance, adding that the APC government will continue to support Akwa Ibom in the renewal of sustainable development.
Similarly, the Director General of Buhari Campaign Organisation and minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi said the APC did not promise to make one Naira equivalent to $1, and reduce the price of petrol when it was campaigning in 2015 to win the presidential election.
Also, the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole said character is what will form the basis of the party’s campaign.
At the event, Oshiomole handed over the party’s flag to the gubernatorial candidates representing Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta and Cross River states.
Earlier, the state chairman of the APC in Akwa Ibom state, Mr Ini Okopido, said during his welcome speech that the party will deliver the state’s vote for President in 2019.
Tragic loss of life due to Overhead cables
Copied
She was full of life, in fact she celebrated her 40th birthday recently.
On Dec 9, 2018, Her friend came to visit her and as she was seeing her off around Sòlébò Estate, Aga Ikorodu, a high tension cable fell off from the Ikeja Electricity Pole and fell on her while light was on.
Immediately eyewitnesses called the Electricity Company officials, and the light was switched off but before the people could gather to rescue her to the hospital, the light came on again, and they all ran back.
Then the light went off again and the people immediately rushed her to lkorodu General Hospital where she was given First Aid treatment and then she was transferred immediately to Gbagada General Hospital where burns are being treated.
The incident happened around 7pm in Ikorodu and she was transferred to Gbagada General Hospital around 10pm.
Ever since then, close to 1 Million Naira has been spent on her (Drugs, Tests, Injections, Surgery and co).
Our source, who is a close relative mentioned it that Doctors in the hospital recommended that she eats a crate of egg per day, that's to explain the level of her condition.
She also said that representatives of the Electricity company visited the victim while she's on the sick bed, and all they could give her is Ten Thousand Naira (10,000).
She eventually died yesterday (Tue, Jan 1, 2019).
To me,
Nigeria is the most terrible place to live in, a country where the government doesn't care if we live or we die.
So many people have lost their lives because of cases like this.
I believe in a sane country,
Electricity companies should conduct a periodic check to their facilities especially one such as high tension cables.
Until we Nigerians start rising up to making everyone accountable to their duties and responsibilities, we would just keep on passing the buck.
The is not a new occurrence, it happens everyday in the country.
I believe the family should sue the electricity company and also ask for compensation, because they have neglected their duty, they failed to comply to health and safety laws.
What happened to all those security checks and maintenance they claim they conduct sometimes that would make thousands of houses not having light?
We all know that Death is inevitable but this is a pathetic way to die.
The Electricity Company must pay for this!
May her Soul Rest In Peace!
To the Families: Our heart goes out to you in this time of sorrow.
Please accept our condolences.
She is survived by son and mother.

UN stealing mineral resources from the Congo
Africans, think the UN is peacekeeping? Think again read this recent following story, very interesting that the mainstream did not carry this shocking story.
The United Nations truck which overturned on Monday has been found to be carrying illegal minerals – this has attracted a lot of criticism.
Some critiques argue that since the establishment of the UN mission in the DRC, the UN peacekeepers have not been the exception of having interest in Congolese natural resources.
Among allegations, there are slaughter of elephant and illegal trafficking of natural resources.
For that, many evidences have been expressed to denounce the involvement of the UN peacekeepers in the illegal exploitation of Congolese natural resources.
“With evidence of sacks of minerals from a UN vehicle confirms the reason UN’s most expensive peace keeping Mission is likely not to end any sooner despite scarcity in achievements,” a critique said.
For example, a UN staff was on 21st August 2011 at the border crossing with Rwanda with 1,200 kilograms of cassiterite in his UN-marked vehicle plate n° 1727.
The UN Mission in the DRC is suspected to be involved in the slaughter of elephants in the National Park of Virunga with the complicity of militias of Forces démocratique pour la liberation du Rwanda , (FDLR).

Nigerians section 84 has exposed the fraud that Gowon, Buhari and Obasanjo are involved in.
Nig Constitution Section 84

(6) Any pension granted by virtue of subsection (5) of this section shall be a charge upon the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation
Nigerians wake up!!! This is daylight robbery, Buhari must answer this question as well as Obasanjo are they getting double pensions?
